The Opera House is home to the very best of community theater and performing arts.
The residents of Woodstock and the surrounding communities are fortunate to have a
world caliber facility available to the talented musicians, actors, producers and theater
buffs who produce entertainment and special events that enrich the lives of everyone in
our community.
TownSquare Players, Inc. is the oldest active community
theater group in McHenry County. Established in 1968 and
incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1973, TSP
currently produces two shows per year at the Woodstock

The Woodstock Musical Theater Company, founded in 1974,
a not-for-profit corporation, is run by a 11 member Board of
Directors. The company produces 4 shows a year including
the very popular "Nuncrackers" during the Holiday Season.
If you would like to become a member of WMTC, you are
welcome, whether you want to be on stage or work on one
of our many backstage crews. There are no fees or dues and
membership lasts as long as you participate.

The Woodstock Fine Arts Association is an organization of
volunteers in support of the arts & the Opera House. WFAA
raises funds for scholarships and Opera House restoration
projects. The programming efforts include an annual lecture
series of six speaker from October to April. In addition Fine
Arts sponsors a school children’s performance series that
introduces students throughout the area to the appreciation
of the performing arts.
Judith Svalander & company presents the annual Nutcracker
at the Woodstock Opera House each December. Svalander
Concert Dancers features six area professional dancers to-
gether with 15 pre-professionals and an array of talented
child dancers in this lavish production. Judith Svalander School
of Ballet, the official school of the Svalander Concert Dancers
uses these professionals on their faculty year-round. A reper-
toire of ballet, modern, jazz and character dance can be seen
throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin each
year as well as performances at the Woodstock Opera House.
Founded in 1987, the Woodstock Mozart Festival has deve-
loped a reputation for presenting outstanding musicians in
imaginative programs & is considered one of the most
important summer musical events in the Chicago area.
Summer Music Festivals Inc., presents the Woodstock
Mozart Festival each year in July & August. Both orchestral
and chamber music concerts feature recognized visiting con-
ductors and guest artists not only in works of Mozart, but
also in selections by other composers. The charm and
intimacy of the restored Woodstock Opera House creates
an ambiance for a unique listening experience much like
those available in small European houses.
